Will it get confirmed ? I am getting tensed as the days are coning closer.

My PNR No is 4230713592. Am W/L 1,2,3,4.

I checked and found that five berths are available on the same train from Coimbatore to Lucknow. Coimbatore is about 400 km before Chennai on this route.

If I book this ticket and pay the full fare will I be allowed to board the train at Chennai?

Book from CBE. Go to the nearest PRS Counter and change the boarding station to MAS.
You can also travel back to CBE by some other train. (Not desirable)

I want to book the ticket for journey from Coimbatore to Lucknow at Chennai counter after paying full fare for Coimbatore to Lucknow journey.

Then I will board the train not at Coimbatore but at Chennai. Do rules allow that? Can I specify this while booking the ticket?

P.S - Also, even if my waitlisted tickets do get confirmed I will not get all four berths together but all at different places. I want to avoid that.

While booking, if you change the boarding station, you shall be allotted the quota for MAS and not CBE.
Book the ticket from CBE-LJN.
Submit a written request to the Station Manager of the original boarding station or contact any Computerised Reservation Centre, at least 24 hours before the departure of the train. However, no refund is permissible for the unused portion of the journey. The change of station once made will be final i.e. in case a passenger has changed the boarding point, he/she will loose all rights to board the train from the original boarding point. If found travelling without any proper authority to travel, he/she will have to pay fare with penalty between original boarding point to changed boarding point.
2. No such guarantee. Berths are allocated on random basis.
