My status has been RAC9 since the last 2 weeks. I have to leave in 4 days,tere's no way i'm travelling RAC for a long journey,should i book trough Tatkal?

frankly I would wait . The rush season is over. A lot many quotas will appear as availabe when people cancel their confirmed.

At RAC9 definitive confirmation. But predictions are always touch and go.

hi i have book 3ac tickets from kachiguda to delhi in sampark kranthi..
train leaves bglr at today night and leaves kachiguda at tomorow 8.30
my wait lists are
general 3a w/l 7
tatkal 3a w/l 2(total berths under tatkal 3a for this train is 2)
i have an hour more to cancel one of them..which one to cancel..pls help

check ones have confirmed now AT THIS TIME... YOUR CHART SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREPARED.

IF BOTH HAVE CONFIRMED, cancel the Normal one.. If you cancel the Tatkal ticket you will lose more money.

For the normally booked ticket, they will charge cancellation charges, but you have no choice. If booked online, use TDR to cancel the transaction AFTER CHECKING YOUR BOOKING !!

both of them are not confirmed..so i cancelled the normal ticket..
tatkal ticket status is w/l 1 chart prepared..
im not used to the reservation process so i have a doubt...
will i be allowed to sit in 3ac with my w/l ticket?
can i get a berth in the later stages of the journey?
please answers these qns..i have to start at tomorrow 8.30 am

Is that a e-ticket or a ticket taken at the counter?

If it is a e-ticket that it would have been already cancelled automatically. If it is a ticket taken at the counter then traveling with a W/L ticket is as good as traveling without a ticket. Even after this if you board the train there is no assurance that you may get a berth. It will all depend on if there are no-shows and the TTE is willing to allot that seat/berth to you.

Be prepared for the worst before boarding the train.

mine is a ticket taken at counter..
so travelling with it is like travelling with out a ticket?

No. Counter tickets are not automatically cancelled and hence remains valid till the end of the journey.

Nothing except clerkage charges and cancellation charges. Amounts to Rs. 40. You have to cancel this within 12 hours of the schedule departure of the train. If the ticket gets confirmed, and you do not wish to travel you would not get back a single penny.

It MAY confirm. If I remember correctly this has ONE coach in 3A. Since Bangalore is the main place for all those who want to travel to MV, your RL 23 may get confirmed as seats in 3A should be higher than MYS. That is my take on this.
