Sorry, can't help at the moment, I can't get a single page on the Indian Railways website to check out the waitlists, the site must be busy.

Hopefully Vsp will be along soon, he understands the 'pooled quota' waitlist situation a lot better than me.

Seems strange to have a 'pooled quota' ticket from an originating station, I'll never understand Indian Railways.

A Total Quota of 143 Berths have been provided for the Passengers travelling from Yeshwantpur to Cuttack and short of Cuttack (including VSKP) by 2864 Express. This Quota has also to be shared by all the passengers travelling from:

(i) one intermediate station to another intermediate station

and

(ii) from any intermesdiate station to terminating station

...falling in the route of the train.

(**Kindly note, this apples, more or less, to all long distance trains)

It will mean you wil not get a ticket unless a miracle occurs
Waited for weeks before realising that when it Said WL1 and then became pqwl it would never move to RAC.
It is used for small stations
Better but more costly option it to book from two larger stations and hop on and off between. Be careful though if booking on line as you need to say where you will board the train. If you board later than an hour from departure you will loose your seat unless you specify when booking where you will board - not possible over the net I think you need to go in and do it

i intend travelling from dehradoon to lucknow on 18th june-my present status is 5 waitlist in 3rd ac- do i stand any chances of getting a confirmed reservation??

May be u should mention your date of journey

its 18th june- i think its there in the query

3010 or 4266?

4266 has 27 berths for this sector, 3010 has 47, so your chances are better on 3010.





The trains from Saharanpur aren't a lot better.

i too have booked a ticket (PNR - 4263484883) in Trivandrum Exp (6321) through internet booking on 17-05-2008 it was WL4 when i booked. Now (13-08-2008) when i checked in the pnr enquiry website its showing as PQWL 4. It didnt show me as PQWL when i booked. Can you tell me whether there is a chance tat this ticket will get cnfrm or RAC atleast.. and also if possible the number of seats given to my pool. should i have to wait till the final chart is prepared or there is no chance of confirmation also..?

Had you booked your ticket across the PRS Counter, the letters PQWL (wherever it applies) would have got printed on your ticket.

In Internet Booking, whether it is E-Ticket or I-Ticket, only WL will be displayed, which many members cannot figure it out whether it is PQWL or RLWL!!!

There will not be any RAC before the PQWL starts. So, in so far as PQWL is concerned, it is either hit-out OR get-out, that is, Confirmed or Dropoped from the Waiting List itself.

So what you mean is im still in WL4 only. which means no body in my pool has cancelled the ticket so far and if any 4 of my pool people cancel, i will get the ticket or else i wont tats it correct.?

If possible can you let me know many Berths have been provided to my pool Quota (i.e. for the Passengers travelling from bangalore to tiruppur) in Trivandrum Exp (6321) for today.

And one more thing if my ticket doesnt get confirmed will it get cancelled on its own. and the cash will be refunded to my account..? cause i read in some article like so.

At the time of booking the Status was PQWL.4/PQWL.4. Even now, the status remains the same!!!!
