Porter Tipping

Will be travelling to Mumbai from New York at end of December, with a child. I may require help from any available airport porter with my baggage. I need to ask any seasoned traveller what usually is a good amount to tip a porter at the airport, in US Dollars. Any help will be appreciated.

You need to tip in rupees. 10 per bag should be fine.

That would be too low for Mumbai. If you have a child and you are carrying 2 full sized suitcases you should pay at least Rs 50.
