Patna to Nepal- train, car, bus?
Patna to Nepal- train, car, bus?
After the Thich Hnat Hahn retreat in Bihar in Oct., some of us want to visit Ayodhya, Kushingar, Lumbini, and maybe Chitwan. Do I have to cross the Ganges by auto to then pick up a train to Gorakapur.
It might be easy then to hire a car and driver for a few days to visit these places. Can a car go into Nepal? Or should we just take individual taxis for each leg (if the buses are not convenient)

It depends on from which Railway Station your train is.[QUOTE=worldofmuse;549860Can a car go into Nepal? Or should we just take individual taxis for each leg (if the buses are not convenient)[/QUOTE]
From Gorakhpur, take a bus or Taxi to go to the India-Nepal Border Town, called, sunauli. The distance take two hours. After that cross the border, preferably in a Cycle Rickshaw. Reaching Nepal land you can hire the Taxi. Taking an Indian Taxi to Nepal may attract many formalities and checking.
