Overnight trains - Agra/Varanasi - Varanasi/Kolkata

I have done my homework. Read as many threads as possible and checked the websites but I seek re-assurance.

Do these trains sound ok as best options. We do not want to begin the journey too late at night as our daughters are only 5 and 10.

Tue, 10/11/09 Agra to Varanasi Train 4863 at 18.15pm.

Fri, 13/11/09 Varanasi to Kolkata Train 3010 at 16.25pm.

Are these 2 trains the best options having regard to time on train and stops along the way.

Your comments/suggestions will be much appreciated.

I'm afraid you've made a major, major mistake here, and I'm glad to point it out before you book tickets. Train 4863 is in the opposite direction, from Varanasi to Agra.

You need to look at :
4854 MARUDHAR EXPRES IDH 20.53 BSB 09.30 on Mon, Thu, Sat , or 4864 MARUDHAR EXPRES IDH 20.53 BSB 08.15 on Tue, Fri, Sun, or
4866 MARUDHAR EXPRES IDH 20.53 BSB 09.40 on Wed.

There are better trains on this route, esp if you go to Mughalsarai Junction, some 15 km from Varanasi.
A faster train is:
2324 NDLS HWH EXPRES MGS 19.45 HWH 06.00
Also:
2176 CHAMBAL EXPRESS P MGS 20.15 HWH 06.30
2312 KALKA MAIL P MGS 20.40 HWH 07.10
9305 SHIPRA EXPRESS MGS 20.15 HWH 06.30

You also have the option of going by some good day-time trains.
