New Train Schedule

Hi everyone,
I'm travelling by train from Delhi down to Kochi via Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Mumbai from 15th November. The present schedule does not extend to November. Does anyone know when the new train schedule will be available?

Railways change the schedule with effect from July 1 each year, and the changes are advertised in the papers.
The timings on the website http://erail.in are quite current.
The official railways time-table is available online at
http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/TAG0809/Index.htm

Which is, however, that from summer 2008 to summer '09.

I'd expect the new one to go up any time soon; check their main page for any updates (they don't provide any URL to link to Trains at a Glance as such, alas; so those links to each edition of it become outdated yearly).

Are there normally many changes in times with the new schedule ?

If the schedule changed July 1st, they are very late to put that online

If there is a major change in departure times, they advertise in the local newspapers. Some trains may be speeded up, or for other operational reasons, timings may change.
Check with the official railways website.
The ticket also has it printed.

This year (2009) the changes will take place from 01-Oct-09. Do not expect any drastic changes from the present time table for most of the major trains, only tweakings.

If I book the train next month for the Nov trip, they will provide the updated schedule already? Or shall I double-check the new schedule in Oct/Nov?

Ian,

Do you have the train no or other details. I've not come across a train or a route from Delhi to Kochi via Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Mumbai !! Agra is okay if it goes through Central India (Jhansi, Bhopal etc). Can't understand how Jaipur, Udaipur and Mumbai comes.. If it goes through Rajasthan, Gujarat and Konkan, it has to via Kota, Baroda, Surat only..

Dear Ian,

I'm travelling by train from Delhi down to Kochi via Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur and Mumbai from 15th November.

##New Delhi-Agra................One Train
Agra-Jaipur.....................One Train
Jaipur-Udaipur..................One Train
Udaipur-Mumbai..................One Train
Mumbai-Kochi....................One Train

##So, you have to take a minimum of 5 trains to complete your trip.
