Hi
We plan to travel from Mumbai to Kerala (either Cochin or Trivandrum) by train. There seems to be an express train, the Netravati, but I can't find any information nor a timetable. Has anybody travelled with the Netravati and if yes, what were your experiences? Where and when should I book tickets (we are a family of 6 and want to go there at the end of Sept.). What about eating and drinking on the train? Thanx in advance. |

I took that train from Cochin to Mumbai, it's somewhere between 35-41 hours and really just a normal Indian train. In SL-class it was quite comfortable, but bring a book.
Lots of good food to be had, both catered and in the stations along the way. I think I ate mostly cheap thalis (which are nothing special on the train, but not bad). |
