If you are using the irctc train site - you should find it on the menu somewhere after you log in. I've seen it and done it myself once before. I'm on a very slow connection otherwise would be more specific about this for you. The refund comes into your bank account a few days later.

Hopefully someone can you give the exact link or name of where you click!

The moment you booked the ticket, you would have received an e-mail also to your registered mail address regarding the ticket. Check the PNR number in http://www.indianrail.gov.in/pnr_stat.html to confirm whether the PNR is active. If yes, you write to care@irctc.co.in..

In case you have not received an e-mail at all, then there is a chance that the ticket was not finally booked at all. Check your credit card / bank account - you may have received a refund of the amount debited..

If you have the amount debitted in your bank account, and you can't see where to cancel the ticket, I think you should write to the address arun has given you, giving all details re your booking including PNR no.

They are quite prompt in replying - I once had cause to write to them and had a reply within a few hours.

Sounds weird. I have been a regular user of IRCTC and always had the tickets under the booked history after a successful booking process. A mail notification is always sent to the mail id given while registering in the site.

So now all you have is a printed version of the ticket and no history of it in irctc website. Try mailing the irctc helpdesk with the issue and they should be able to sort this one out for you. They are always prompt in responding to issues.

That is a real possibility.

Is the OP sure the amount was debited from his/her account/credit card in the first place?- I don't think that is mentioned. It may simply be a failed transaction, in the event no debit happened.

^^ I think the ticket was booked successfully as the OP has the PNR number.

Anyways let the OP confirm.

Robin, just curious to know whether you have a PNR number? Surprised that you dont find it in your booked tickets history and also that you have not received an e-mail. Write to them asap and as aishah rightly said, the reply comes within a few hours and max it would take 24 hours.
