Need Help on planning from Nainital to Jammu

Hiya,

Back again after a long time. Was planning a trip from Bombay to Delhi and then on to Nainital for a holiday and then to Jammu and back but i seem to be stuck. I cannot see any links at all from Nainital to Jammu. I understand Katgodham is the nearest rail head but are there any other stations that i can get to from where i can get a direct train to jammu?

I remember a few years back i was planning a similar trip from Bombay to Jammu and then onto Dalhousie / Dharamsala and Pathankot was the nearest railhead from both Dalhousie and Dharamsala. But in this case im a bit lost....kindly suggest

There is a Garib Rath 2207 which runs only on Tuesdays. Only 3A class, leaving at 18:30 and arriving at 09:15 around 15 hrs.

Moradabad is the station from where you can change the train to Jammu.

##By any chance, if you cannot take the Weekly Direct Train from Kathgodam (**nearest Railhead for Nainital), then you need to come upto Moradabad (118Kms.) and then take a connecting train to Jammu Tawi.

##If you are interested to spend a day in Haridwar, then you please 4119 Express (**Overnight/Daily) from Kathgodam to Haridwar. From Haridwar, there is an express train to Jammu Tawi (**Overnight/Daily).

##Instead of opting for mid-night change-over, in the event of the direct train not found to be convenient for you, I suggest you may take 5035 upto Moradabad and from there another connecting train to Jammu Tawi.

##All said done, plan your schedule in such a manner that you will be able to take the direct train on Tuesdays.

quick question....to go to see the taj do i have to book ticket for agra city or cannt ??

and if i want to book a ticket from moradabad to jammu, will that be moradabad city or the other one? also how does one reach from nainital to moradabad?

Dear vij4all,

I am not sure whether direct buses will be available from Nainital to Moradabad, but certainly, there will be good transport facilities from Nainital to Kathgodam.

So, come to Kathgodam and then take the direct train to Jammu Tawi on TUESDAYS, if it suits you.
----
Otherwise, take 5036 from Kathgodam to Moradabad; and then a connecting train to Jammu Tawi.
