Mumbai to Jodhpur

I am traveling to India in August and plan on traveling to Jodhpur from Mumbai. My concern is that this a very long train ride (about 18 hours) and will be traveling AC 2. Has anyone taken this train before? Any advice? Thanks!

We have done this trip.

We travelled by the ranakpur express 4708. It departs at 3:30 pm from Bandra terminus Mumbai. the route is good.

If you have a window seat then its no problem as you can watch the landscape change from mumbai city to outskirts then rural maharashtra & gujrat. this is in the evening.

The night will see the train stop at vapi, valsad surat do try the icecream here.

sleep early i.e. 9:30 ish. by morning the landscape has changed to welcome you to rajasthan. Look out of the window - do you see the peacocks. You will not realise where the time is gone. do have some of that tea served in the earthen pot at marwar junction.

the only drawback with the tains on this sector is no Pantry car so carry some food - typically packed at your favorite restaurant and some fruit if you like.

are you taking the 2AC or 3AC . make friends with your coupe mates talk to them or read. the time just flies.
