Monsoon rains affecting trains Delhi-->Mumbai?
Hello,
I'm currently in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, and have a train booked from Delhi to Bandra station in Mumbai on the 1st (Monday). Having heard (from relatives abroad) that railway tracks and bridges have been swept away by the monsoon rains, I was wondering what the status is with trains Delhi--> Mumbai. I will check tomorrow morning with the local railway station whether the trains are running, but I was hoping some of you might be able to lend a word of advice. My flight leaves from Mumbai International airport wednesday evening - I'm hoping the airport is functioning normally (again, I will check with the relevant airline tomorrow but was wondering if any of you had any advice). Many thanks! |

Never mind - checked with the trainstation today and apparently things are fine - the train has not been cancelled but might be somewhat rerouted due to the floods, meaning it would take an hour or two longer to reach its destination. This is the same as the info given by the PNR-Status request function on the indianrail website.
