Overnight train from Mangalore to Bangalore, then a train from Bangalore to Kacheguda/Hyderabad/Secunderabad.
Or a train from Mangalore to Madgaon (Goa), then a train from Madgaon to Kacheguda (only 4 days a week).

there is an apsrtc hi tech bus which departs from mangalore at 11 am in the morning and reaches hyderabad at 8 am next morning. there is also a volvo i suppose in the evening. bus journet both ways is very long.
if you wann go by train i can advise you is
mangalore to madgoan and from madgoan you have weekly express trains to hyderabad.or else you can also climb amaravathi express in the morning ad reach guntakal in the night and you can change there for hyderabad..if you go to bangalore by train from mangalore you need to wait all the day in bangalore to catch the kacheguda express which departs at 18. 00 or the yeshwantapaur - kachiguda epress which departs at 15.00

waspiesbeast26, a quick lesson about forums.
If the person asks a question, then gets a reply, then doesn't bother to reply to that reply.....don't waste a second of your time giving extra details.

the best route from Mangalore to Hyderabad is :
Mangalore to Udupi - good but busy road.
Udupi to Shimoga - 150 kms average road but almost zero traffic. check road conditions during monsoon. Also steep and narrow ghat road for about 20 kms. If car is bad do not use this road. Also no help on this road in case of breakdown.
Shimoga to Dhavanigiri - 90 kms Above average road. Near Zero traffic.
Dhavanagiri to Hampi - 100 kms Bad/Average road. Zero traffic.
Hampi to Raichur - 200 kms excellent road and can cover in 21/2 hrs.
Raichur to Hyderabad - 200 kms some 50 kms is full of pot holes but almost zero traffic and can cover in 3 hrs.
can do it in 15-18 hrs but start early.

On every Saturday, 6518 (MAQ>>YPR) / 2649 (YPR>>KCG) connection can be availed, which also involves 2hrs.40mts waiting in Yeshwantpur and the total journey time (**including the above waiting time) comes to 24Hrs.
