A quick look at the new 'trains at a glance' has me wondering about a few things.

Table 49 - trains 7227 & 7228 are now 4 days a week, I thought they were only 3 days a week.

Table 34a - trains 1464 & 1466, I knew these trains were being extended from Rajkot to Veraval, but I thought the line to Veraval was still closed for gauge conversion.

Ahh, good news: -

Table 69 - trains 6731 & 6732 (Madurai - Bangalore) are being extended to Mysore.

Steven, Indian Railways should employ you as "Visiting Consultant" or some such title. I think you would do a whale lot of good merely sitting and analysing things on the net!

Table 72 - Chetak Express (Train 9615) will soon be avoiding Jaipur...

Table 23 - Delhi - Jaisalmer train (4059) splits at Jodhpur with part of the train going to Barmer.

Which to believe - Trains at a Glance or Indianrail.gov?

Thanks for the link to trains at a glance - great work.

I'm about to book my ticket online from Delhi - Kalka, Kalka to Shimla and was going to book CC on the indianrail.gov website but having checked trains at a glance there does not appear to be CC on the 12.10 255 Himalayan Queen - its now only a 2nd Class train (255 Shimla Express)

Which is correct?

Dave

Sorry, can't be much help on this one, I would guess that your paying for CC from Delhi to Kalka and then 2nd class from Kalka to Shimla, or maybe Indian Railways adds a coach to train 255.

SHIMLA may have knowledge of the route.

More observations.

Puri in Orissa must be a dreadful place, a timetable (32) is printed to get from Puri to Delhi, but no timetable from Delhi to Puri (32A), do Indian Railways know something that we don't.

Table 14 - Darjeeling Mail (train 2343) is to become a 'superfast' train from the 1st October (old train times that are not printed apply till then), this means the Kamrup Express (train 5959) will become even more neglected, you have been warned.

EDITED to add, you can get table 32A by clicking on the 'Sampart kranti' link (top right) and scrolling down till you see a link to 32A.
