Koraput to New Delhi

Is there a train that goes from Koraput to New Delhi? I am travelling to India this September. Thanks heaps

Try www.erail.in and search for trains from Koraput to Rayagada, then Rayagada to Delhi, but this is a poor option for many reasons, maybe a bus to Rayagada for the early 09.45 departure (Wed, Thu & Sun only) that gets to Delhi 31 hours later at 16.40.



If you visit Jagdalpur (3 hour train ride from Koraput) you can get a 6 hour bus ride to Raipur, then a better and much faster choice of trains.

Looks like the Jagdalpur to Raipur then New Delhi is perhaps the best option. I have a seat booked on the Coromandal Express from Kolkata to Viz then the Araku Valley Train to Koraput. It took some doing, I am quite proud of myself that I eventually booked and paid for a ticket on the Indian Railway's web site. I am flying home from New Delhi hence a train back to there. Thank you for your help.

##In the first instance, after boarding the 1VK Passenger in VSKP, you get your journey ticket extended upto Jagdalpur.
The 1VK arrives in Jagdalpur at 16.30 hrs. Please look at this:

##Normally, the 1VK gets delayed by atleast 40 minutes to 60 minutes,by the time it reaches Jeypore. I travelled twice and on both the occassions it arrived in JYP with a delay of 40 minutes.

##Assuming that it arrives in Jagdalpur by about 17.30 hrs., and that you will get into the Raipur Bus at about 18.30 hrs., you will reach Raipur by about 1.30 hrs., because Raipur-Jagdalpur Bus Journey takes around 7 Hrs. to cover 300 Kms, as per the information at the following link:

##The Araku-Koraput Section is a 'normal' section with a very few scenic spots. But the Koraput-Jeypore Section runs at high altitudes and on ghat sections. I have NOT travelled beyond Jeypore, but it is understood that this is a normal route.

##I agree with you in so far as continuing in the same train upto Jagdalpur is concerned so that you can take a bus to Raipur and then 2409 Gondwana Express for journey to New Delhi which runs on five days in a week; it doesn't runs on TUESDAYS & SUNDAYS.
