Kids in trains
Hi,
I"ve read that on trains kids between 5 and 12 pay half fare and kids below five travel for free. But how does this work with seats / berths. Do both categories get a seat/berth, or only the half fare paying one? Or none at all? (yeah the trouble about travel with kids.... )Thanks in advance, Hans

Hello Hans, yes you are correct in your info.Children 12 and under pay half fare, they still get a seat or sleeper .Our daughter was 4 when we travelled earlier this year, she just slept with me in my sleeper. When we went to Chandigarh on the day train[only 3 and a half hours]she did not have a seat so we shared her amongst our seats.I guess that might answer your question.Night trains are a great way to get around, beats finding accommodation and our children loved them, kindest cheers,Carol

kids berth
Kids between 5 and 12 r charged half ticket but are allotted a berth when taking a reserved ticket, but kids below 5 have to adjust with their parents.
