Karnataka Express Train Status "NOT AVAILABLE" ????

I have been looking into booking tickets on the Karnataka Express (2628) from Jalgaon to Solapur on 2 August in class 2A. When I check availability, the status is listed as "NOT AVAILABLE." At first I thought this meant that the train was so booked full that no more reservations could be made (although I thought that would be indicated by "REGRET/WL," meaning "No More Booking Permitted"). I have now checked on several different days (including several days in weeks before and after 8/1) and different classes but still see the "NOT AVAILABLE" status.
Is this train really booked full, with no WL status available, on all these days? Or is this just some kind of computer glitch? I am not sure what to make of it and would be grateful for any thoughts on this!

Sounds like you may be searching using a quota (tourist quota or other), and this may not be available on that train, or between those stations.

Maybe the train no longer calls at one of those stations.

No, just checked.

Maybe the train's timings or route are changing soon, sorry, can't really help.

Try booking Jalgaon-Gulbarga (GR), I just got a WL3 for this in Sleeper Class. It seems that Jalgaon-Solapur is impossible to book. As Steven said, probably no quota for that.

This question comes up from time to time on the forum. It generally means, as has been suggested, that the train has no quota between those two stations. (Is it a relatively short journey on a long-distance train?)

Try booking from the station before the one at which you want to get on, or to the one after the one at which you want to get off. (The second option is safer, as there is no chance of your berth being given away before you board). We had to do this on a short journey from Ajmer to Marwar earlier this year when there was no 2A quota.

Many thanks, everyone, for the various suggestions! I ended up giving up on trying to get on the Karnataka Express from JL to Solapur and instead booked a different train to Pune and then another from Pune to Solapur. We will have a few hours to see a bit of Pune, which is fine. We will have 2 kids with us, and it's good for them to stretch the legs/blow off some steam anyway.
The idea of booking tickets going as far as a later station (or from an earlier station) sounds like an excellent one -- I will definitely be trying that one for future bookings as we finish planning our trip.
I think the problem that I had may be what Mickey S suggested -- we are trying to go a relatively short distance on a long distance train. The train goes from New Delhi to Bangalore, so getting people from JL to Solapur is, understandably, not a priority. Plenty of people probably want to ride that train for all or most of the way!

Don't know what I'd do without India Mike! Thanks again,
