Jodhpur-Jaisalmer Train or Car
Hi
Is the train service between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur reliable? I'd prefer to take a train since I am traveling with kids who love trains (and there are toilets available). But I was told that the #4059 DLI JSM express 6:45-13:30 is always late and unreliable and not very clean since it is coming from Delhi.... We are planning to visit in December. Thanks in advance. So you dont recommend the train service, then? Its a bit longer ride than a bus, but I was hoping it would be more comfortable by train? I am travelling with two kids ...

The train originates from Delhi and there are times when the train is made to terminate at Jodhpur if it is running very late!
However, there is another train between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer (4810) that can be a good option. If you can travel at night, the day can be better utilised for sightseeing!

There is also a passenger train (2nd class unreserved only) that departs Jodhpur at 08:40 and gets to Jaisalmer at 16:05.

The Delhi train is unreliable but the overnight trains (it used to be 3 JPJ and 4 JPJ) are fairly relaible..
