Jaisalmer to Udaipur?

What is the best way to go from Jaisalmer to Udaipur. I'm planning to go from Jaipur to Jodpur by train (Trains to Jaisalmer were full) - I wanted to spend a couple nights in Jodhpur then move on to Jaisalmer (likely by a morning bus - 5-6hrs?)
I would then like to spend a couple nights in Jaisalmer before moving on to Udaipur. It seems it would be best to spend a night in Jodhpur and move on to udaipur the next day. I don't want to bus at night, and dont' want to be leaving/arriving in the really early or late hours of any day.
I'm travelling by myself (unless I can find others that want to go to Uaipur from Jaisalmer with me) and so a taxi is likely not a great option. Maybe a stop over in another city? along the way?
I appreciate advice.
