Is prior booking required for Shatabdi Express?

HI

Will be arriving Delhi on Sun 5/3/06, and would like to depart on Tues Evening to Agra via Shatabdi Express. Plse advise if it would be possible to book seats while in Delhi or would booking have to be made months in advance in order to secure seats?

Brgds

Book it immediately up on reaching Delhi, no need to book months in advance.

My experience was that I couldn't get on the Shatabdi to Amritsar when I tried to book about 4 days in advance but was able to get on the Gwalior to Delhi the day before if that helps at all.

You have sufficient time to book in advance for your trip so might as well do it now and have the tickets booked for your own safety and peace of mind. Better than not having one when you land here!!! Some trains can get full in no time while others may always be available!!! Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Hi,

When I have flown into Delhi in the past I booked tickets for Shatabdi inside the airport. However, I would urge you to book in advance as on my way home another time I tried to book tickets from Jalandhar to Delhi on Shatabdi 3 days before and it was fully booked.

The Shatabdi departs in the morning and there are some tickets held back for 'day of departure' sale, these tickets are sold at a special kiosk on or near the departure platform.

But as you can print your ticket in your own home for this train, it makes more sense to book in advance.
