IRCTC website! arggghhhh

I've gotten so close to purchasing e-tickets on the IRCTC website that I thought I had done it. But no not quite.
Steve Ber - help.
I go to the part to select payment gateway. I selected ICICI because I have a Visa card.
I completed my card details and then bingo just one more click on "Buy" and we should be away.
But no, nothing happens. When I click on "Buy" my home computer and my work computer do nothing. Literally nothin happens - Nothing at all. I'm stuck again. Help.....

I have every detail needed on a piece of paper, (having already checked availability), I also have my card account number 'coppied' ready to just 'paste'.

This means I can do the entire page in under 20 seconds.

Most of the time it works.

But yes, just persevere, all the while you'll be getting quicker, and eventually you'll get through.

Booking through Internet is allowed from 5 AM to 11.30 PM (IST)

23:30 - 18:00 GMT

For me the problem was my web browser. After I tried Firefox my two tickets cam in a total of three tries. That was after trying Safari for HOURS.

site will not make secure connection

I arrive in Varanasi on the afternoon of the 17th Jan. What are the chances of obtaining a ticket at the station for GAYA JN for the 18th?

I have been trying to book a ticket on the IRCTC for two days. The website keeps informing me that it cannot establish a secure connection.

The Varanasi Gaya connection, is a 4-5 hour train ride, and I dont care what kind of seat I ride, except that I will be travelling with 2 large boxes.

Also, what is acceptable tip for wallahs who help me carry the boxes to my seat?

Thank you!

thanks

Hi Cyber, no. I arrive into Delhi on the 16th, transfer to a morning Jetair flight to Varanasi on the 17th.

Trying to make the Nyingma Monlam in BodhGaya which begins the 19th.

There are two trains out of Varanasi I could take, the Sealdah which departs at 1:45, and the Jalianwala, which departs at 10:20. I figured to shower and sleep (sort of) in Varanasi for the night, and try to catch the Jalianwala.

But i am willing to barrel through and take the Sealdah, except I will be lugging two huge boxes around Varanasi with me, which is not appealing.

Thanks for your help!

I suggest you keep trying with the online booking, or you could try the IR agent in America!!

Oh, brilliant, thanks so much, but are those the availability for the 17th? Im looking for the 18th.

Arrive Varanasi around noon 17th, and those trains leave the 18th. (1:45) (10:20)

Duly noted that there is no tourist quota, and so I will keep trying!

Thank You!
