information on Toy Train - Darjeeling

Hi,
I'm new in the forum and I hope the question'll be appropriate.
If not I apoligize in advance.
This is my question:
I'll be in India next November. I'm planning to visit Sikkim and Darjeeling in West Bengala. I would to make a travel with Toy Train from Siliguri to Darjeeling. Is there anyone that has any information on this train? I mean departure time, costs and so on. Moreover the train is one-way? I mean the train goes from Siliguri to Darjeeling and back? Is it a round trip? Is it possible to catch the train from Darjeeling to Siliguri?

Hi Tina and welcome to India Mike.
The toy train runs in both directions so getting back to Siliguri using the train wont be a problem.
The journey time is around 6 hours but I reckon the ride will be worth the time spent on the train!
The trains leave daily as follow

Train No 1D SILIGURI JN 09:27 DARJEELING 15:30

Train No 2D DARJEELING 10.40 SILIGURI JN 16.38

Will be going to Darjeeling this winter and am trying to decide whether to take the toy train or not. Two questions:

1) We will be taking the Darjeeling mail (10 hours) from Kolkata to NJP - do people have any opinions on whether we will be in any condition to enjoy the toy train ride after such a journey?

2) ALternatively, we are thinking of taking the toy train down from Darjeeling to NJP - any thoughts on whether the journey is better in one direction or the other?
