Indian Trains! (Old ARP Thread)
Indian Trains! (Old ARP Thread)
I am travelling through Rajastan in November and have booked all but one of my train tickets through IRCTC. Unfortunately, the site is refusing to let me book my one outstanding ticket, however, stating that I am outside the Advance Registration Period, even though I have already prebooked subsequent journeys on my trip and I am only about 57 days away from travel for the missing one
. Anyone else had this problem, or know how to solve it?!

Hi Nickfoz
Some of the trains have an advance reg period of 30 days instead of the usual 60. I had the same problem with the express train from Delhi to Agra, the "Taj Express" 2180 train and then i discovered that this train was one of the few that had the shorter period.
Which train are u referring to specifically?

Thanks Aessedai. Why doesn't that surpise me?!!! My train is the 2466 Intercity Express from Jodhpur to Jaipur on 7th November. Do you happen to know if this one is 30 or 60 days, or how i should find out?
I figured mine out by playing with site (yes time consuming) to see when it would let me book. I just tried that with your train and something weird came up. It said route/class suspended - booking not permitted. I have no idea what this means aside from the obvious.
Steven Ber, Beach and Shimla are the train experts so hopefully they will be able to help...

aessedai is right about some trains having a shorter ARP( Advance Reservation Period) and these are normally short distance intercity expresses. Its very likely that the 2466 falls in this category.
Yes, I've just checked the position and today one can book upto October 10 only.
