Indian Railways online booking

I have previously praised the apparent efficiency of IR's online booking system, but nothings perfect.
Having checked the availability of FC seats on http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ I booked and paid for 2 seats on the Bikaner Express from Delhi to Bikaner on Oct 29th. Was duly notified the seat and coach numbers. On revisiting the site 2 days ago, and clicking "availability" I got a message that the train was cancelled! If you search "trains between important stations" you will see the train still listed as a FC train, But check availability and it appears as cancelled.
So I sent a series of increasingly agitated emails , because the booking was still showing as confirmed on another area of the site. Anyway it appears the train is not cancelled. So I had nothing to worry about. Only problem is the coach I was booked in will not be added to the train until March 2004!

This is the email I received

"Dear Customer,
There was one first class coach by train number 4789 bikaner express
in which the rservation was being done. The first class coach in
which you have been booked is not available till march 2004.The
train has been marked as cancelled for the purpose of
reservation. The train is running but you may have to travel in 2nd
class un-reserved compartment as there is no reservation in this
train. You kindly send an e_mail for cancellation of your ticket so
that the ticket may be cancelled for this train and the refund
amount be credited to your account electronically.Kindly book in the
alternative train of your choice if you want to travel in reserved
accomodation.Reservation in train number 4789 has been suspended as
there is no first class coach available for that train."

So just as well I checked.
However I am pleased that they did respond . With some of our bureaucratic institutions, like Telstra, I would still be getting meaningless computer generated replies
