Steven,
I have similar query: Arriving on May 19, 2008 morning, will I be able upon arrival to get any sleeping berth 3A,2A,SL for Train 7057 DEVAGRI Exp daily Mumbai CST - Aurangebad on same night? Have been trying to book many times on the irtc site but have problem on the payment portion always.

What about night sleeper bus for this same route and schedule, any recommendation and possibly which site is reliable to book?

Thanks!

The Devagiri Express was the first seriously busy train I saw in India, so impossibly overcrowded in the unreserved carriages that the vision never left me, at the time the train only went as far as Nanded, now it goes all the way to Secunderabad.

You're chances of getting a reserved berth on the day you arrive are slim, or maybe worse.

There is still availability in all classes except 3-tier air con for the 19th may, however, some berths are also available using the foreign tourist quota (there are 2 berths in 2-tier air con and 4 berths in Sleeper Class), there's a small chance that these berths will still be available, but it's only a small chance, and foreign tourist quota berths can only be booked in India.

There is also the earlier Jan Shatabdi, departing Mumbai CST at 13:50 and getting to Aurangabad at 20:35, the train has bookable 2nd class seats (2S) and air con Chair Class (CC), both still have availability, but no tourist quota.

I've no idea about buses, but the following website seems OK for viewing times, and you can also book your tickets online, though I've no idea how reliable the website is.

Good luck.
