Hyderabad to Trichy
Hyderabad to Trichy
I keep hearing about this supposedly direct train from Hyd to Trichy, but am not able to locate it anywhere in indianrail.gov.in.
Any ideas steve or vsp?

I can't find a direct one. The city name is listed as Tiruchchirapali (station code: TPJ) where I'm looking at ( http://www.indiagroove.com/ ), which isn't its most common spelling I think, you may have to toggle this around a bit in your searches, but the code should work in any case.
Havent heard about one... Was it among the new trains announced this year?

No.I've not heard of the train.
I done a quick check yesterday and noticed a train that departs the Hyderabad area at 12:00 and gets to Salem (for road) and Erode (for train) early morning, but I didn't check for onward connections, changing at Chennai probably still is the best option.
