Hyderabad to Gorakhpur by Rail

Hello Folks,

I need help in figuring out a train that will get me to Gorakhpur in the early morning. The three direct trains from hyd get me there at about 14.30- 15.30 which makes it kinda tough for me to cross the border into nepal and get back.

I dont mind changing trains but i am looking for a train that will get there early am.

So I am wondering how could it be faster than the direct train to GKP (Gorakhpur) from Hyderabad.

But then the resident train experts (I am not one of them) may even make this possible?

not really concerned about the time of the journey, i am looking for a train that can get me to gorakhpur in the early morning rather than late afternoon which is case with the direct trains from hyd.

In that case why don't you come to Delhi and take a train from Delhi to Gorakhpur?

There are two trains from Delhi- Vaishali Express that reaches at nine in the morning and Gorakhdham that reaches around 12.00 noon.

Thanks mridula, i am just hoping one of our resident train experts would suggest changing trains somewhere nearer to hyd if not i'll go by your suggestion.

There are 2 options:

1) Take the AP Sampark Kranti from Secunderabad (SC) (Train no. 2707) which departs SC @ 17.55 and get off either at Bhopal (arrival 8.15 next morning) or Jhansi (JHS) (arrival 12 noon). From BPL / JHS you can catch 1015 Kushinagar Express (leaves BPL at 14.15 / leaves JHS @ 19.30) which reaches GKP in the morning at 7.25. The reason I've suggest BPL also as a changeover point is that the layover at BPL is lesser (6 hrs) as compared to JHS (7.5 hours). This is due to the fact that 2707 is a Superfast and hence reached JHS in lesser time as compared to 1015.

2) The other option is to take the 2707 from SC, get of JHS (@ 12.00) and then take 1124 Gwalior Barauni Mail (which leaves JHS @ 13.50). It reaches GKP very very early at 2.25am.

Pl. note that 2707 runs only thrice a week and departs SC in the evening on Mon, Wed, Fri. The connecting trains run daily.
