If I'm correct below route is part of the main Howrah-Delhi line

##Please note the direct distance between Shikohhabad and Kanpur is 193 Kms., whereas via Farukhabad it is 245Kms., but Shikohabad-farukhabad-Kanpur is Non-Electrified Single Line, whereas the Main Line is Fully Electrified Double Line!!!

Hi,

Sorry to jump in..but somebody told me that work was supposed to be started on SHIKOHABAD-FARRUKHABAD-KANPUR link to make it electrified double line. If there is only 50KM difference between SHIKOHABAD-FARRUKHABAD-KANPUR and SHIKOHABAD-ETAWAH-KANPUR route, then it makes sense to make SHIKOHABAD-FARRUKHABAD-KANPUR double route to ease out the traffic on SHIKOHABAD-ETAWAH-KANPUR route.
