Depends on what you mean by "scenic." Southern Tamil Nadu is eerily flat. In some parts, you can view a 360 degree horizon, which is not easy to do on land. The area has a primordial feel to it--palm trees and scrub brush. I half expect to see a grazing brontosaurus.
From Madurai to Tinnyveli is a pleasant enough trip, little roadside Tamil towns, some outcrops of rock that turn into hills, breaking the flatness. I like the area. I'm just not sure if most people will find it sufficiently visually animated. I've only done Madurai-Trichy at night. |
