There may be people who have actually got LB's when in a group. the key observation is that after such bookings, the SS quota berths do not reduce, but GN quota does. however, when you book alone, if SS quota is applicable, that gets reduced on your booking. this is what i have observed & it is in line with the quota definition:
9 SS Female(above 45 Year)/Senior Citizen/Travelling alone

i really don't see how IR benefits from this 'SS quota for single traveler only' rule. PS:- IR expects that when you would travel with co-passengers you would be healthy enough to adjust yourself and they would take proper care of you.
When you travel alone, you probably turn into a 4 year kid who would not know the way around and hence IR probably does a favour by allotting a suitable place for the person to stick around.

i thought that people would be pouring into kolkata for durga puja, but looks like everyone is escaping out!!!
by 0805AM of opening day, tkts were in WL, by the time i checked up other options & saw them in wait list too, by 1000AM it was in REGRET/WL300!!!
i cannot believe there are genuine passengers who are booking at the counter & online to consume 300 tickets & add 300 to WL on top of that in such a short time. i'm sure the agents being barred is a fraudulent claim by IR & IRCTC...
