Help! What is H NIZAMUDDIN(NZM) station?

and where is it in relation to New Delhi station (NDLS)? And more importantly, which is closest to where our tickets are waiting, in the IRCTC Chelmsford Road?

I did a search on trains between NDLS and AGRA Cantt, and got a long list. But when I tried to book the one I wanted, it said that NDLS wasn't included, but NZM was. I'm hopelessly confused!

Hazrat Nizamuddin Rly. Station is located in South of Delhi

It is very well connected to New Delhi Rly. Station through road and a number of local trains from New Delhi to Haz. Nizamuddin. Bus, taxi, and auto rickshaws easily available.

All of the south-bound (South INdia) trains either originate from here or pass through this. It is the third largest Rly. Station after Old Delhi Rly. station, and New Delhi Rly. Station.

Chelmsford Road is nearest to New Delhi Rly station. From new Delhi station, go to Pahar Ganj and then ask about Chelmsford road. You will find a lot of foreigners there too to help you out.

NZM is a pretty nice station--not too far from the center, but not as hectic as NDLS. It's not too difficult to get there, since autorickshaw drivers know where it is--but some of them had a hard time understanding the way I pronounced "Nizamuddin," so I had to point it out in a guidebook.

I didn't know that you can order tix and pick them up in India in person. Where does it give you an option to do that?

Thanks

Thanks so much for your replies!

The Chosen One: only in Delhi, near the New Delhi train station. Check out this thread for details. It's on Chelmsford Road.

Nizzy - Mudding

First time I had travel to NizaMuddin (Pronounced Nee-za-Moo-Deen) I jotted it down a bit like Nizzy (Rhyme with Lizzy) Mudding (Rhyme with Pudding) so I told the Taxi guy Please take me to NizzyMudding Jitney Jeldi - being obliging and all-knowing like most Indian Taxi Drivers he shook his head understandingly and we took off ........

after about a half hour of driving around in total bewilderment he said "Sir what place you go now?"

It is pronounced "Ni-Za-Mud-Din".

The station has been named after the popular Sufi saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, who lived from 1236 to 1325. His tomb is located in the vicinity.
