help needed in Aurangabad to Ajanta-Ellora
We are on a time crunch flying to Aurangabad 4 pm and flying out the next day at 5pm. My plan was to get to Aurangabad, and take a 4 hour bus close as I can towards Ajanta, get up early and see Ajanta, and then take bus back, and hope to be back by Arungabad a bit after 1pm and see Ellora caves and then flyout.
Question: (1) Are there buses leaving north towards Jaigon (Ajanta) after 5pm (2) If not, how much will private transportation cost (3) Any recommendation for hotels near Ajanta (4) Any days that Ellora and Ajanata are not open Thanks for any info Will

Will try to answer the questions as much as possible.
a) Busses are available through the day and till late in the night and hence you need not worry about the bus to Jalgaon from Aurangabad. b) Not too sure on the private transport cost, someone has to update basis their experience c) There is a Maharashtra tourism development corp (MTDC) hotel in Ajanta itself where you can get accommodation. Google "Ajantha MTDC" and you shall get more on that. That is the best option to stay with prior booking. Otherwise not too sure on the option in the surronding areas. d) Ajatha is closed on Monday and Ellora on Tuesday.

You are on a very tight time schedule. Ellora is a little distance from Aurangabad (was it about 40 mins - I can't remember exactly), and you have to get there and back and to the airport - hmm - sounds really hectic to me. I wonder if you think it might be better to just stick to Ellora, and maybe see the fort thing (starts with D, I can't quite remember), on the way. The caves at both places are extensive, and worth a good half day each, in my opinion. I wouldn't have liked to just scream through.
