Help! I booked my train and I wasn't allocated a coach nor seat/berth number

Help Help Imers...

Am I panicking for nothing?
I booked for two overnight 1AC online - Bharatpur to Udaipur and it does not reflect my coach number nor seat/berth number.
I checked availability and it said there was availability for 0002. So that meant 2 people right?

So how come my coach number and seat/berth aren't listed?? Did I do something wrong?
I have the reservation e-ticket in front of me and it simply says: Electronic Reservation Slip.

My tickets ACC (chair) from Delhi to Agra was fine. I had the coach number and my seat numbers which were 0045/0046/S/M. What is this S/M?

Will my coach and berth number be allocated later?
It also says on my ticket that if my name doesn't appear on the reservation chart, then i annot board the train?? But I've booked my tickerts and I have a reservation slip? So what does this mean. Sorry for asking all this - especially if I'm "freaking" out for nothing.

Thanks. Please reply like lightening speed if you can.

What is the status on your ticket? it should be CNF? Confirmed is all you need you know.

1AC berths are not allocated until a few hours before the train leaves.

Nick H is absolutely right. CNF means confirmed. There will be a chart pasted in front of the coach in your train. You will find your name and coupe no. There are two types of coupe. With 4 berths and 2 berths.

Sorry but I've looked everywhere and I can't find those three wonderful letters "CNF"... Which part of the e-ticket should I look at? I've looked and looked... I've been on the Irctc website for 4 hours now... sniff sniff...

The Irctc has taken my money...

Oh and more bad news,.. I did another booking from Jaisalmer to Jaipur and everything went fine until I gave my credit card details. It spouted out this one liner thing with the PNR number and bank ref no, and with a confirmation thing you have to click on. I clicked on iot and then it started to do its thing, and then poof, my screen went blank. So I checked aganist my PNR number and it said that it was awaiting payment. So that means that my payment was unsuccessful? Or that my payment will be processed in due course? I was impatient...argghh and I did my reservation again, and this time everything went fine and I got my print out and my coach and berth/seat number. So with my initial "failed" booking, does it mean that I will be charged for it on my credit card?? Or it was simply unsuccessful?

Still can't find that CNF ??? ARghhhhhhh...

Oh and thank you for your very quick replies... :O)

Sigh... I feel really stooopid now.
I checked my email account and I got an email confirmation from the railways,.. ti says CONFIRMED!!!! yay!!!

Now does anyone know why I can't book any more trains? I've not consumed my quota for the month. It says my credit card has insufficient funds,..I called my bank and they said that my card isn't blocked and I have lots of available funds. The other thing was it said my expiry was wrong. But It isn't. so I tried using another card and the same thing happened. Could the site maybe be "down?"

I was laughing away earlier this evening thinking how easy it was to book my tickets,...until I started to stumble onto all these set backs. And thank goodness I read most of the posts on indian railways beforehand!

IRCTC issues!

Hi Kat_Mit,
You need not panic. IRCTC uses third party gateways to process payments. There are a number of gateways. While making payments, it asks you to select a gateway. It is the gateway which accepts or refuses the payment. If there is an issue with one gateway, you can choose other. Sometime it does help. We often use irctc for our tickets and with me too, similar things have happened. When it happened first time, i was worried too. On a couple of occasions, choosing other gateway had helped. Just a month or two back, I also landed in the same problem wherein i my card was charged (thrice) for one booking and the booking did not go through. It was done in forth attempt. After 3 days I also had the charges reversed in my card account. You can also email them and they do respond. (at least they did respond to my mail when I had similar experience first time, some 3-4 years ago)

Hi

Can you please get my query resolved. I have my booking for today evening.
STATUS:

Coach: 3A
Booking Status: W/L 3
Current Status: CNF

But when I take the printout to get my PNR the status is shown as,

Booking Status/Current Status: PQWL 3/ PQWL 2
Coach No/Seat No/Berth: 0000/

Does it mean that my ticket is not confirm. Please help as I don't want to fall in the last minute rush.
Thanks.

@ kat_mit

Glad to know that you could finally track the final status of your ticket.
However, I would like to have a reply for this comment:
"My tickets ACC (chair) from Delhi to Agra was fine. I had the coach number and my seat numbers which were 0045/0046/S/M. What is this S/M?"

ACC is a 2*2 arrangement where you have only the window and the aisle seat.
However 45 and 46 should be the front two seats in a single row (not having any other beside it)
I cannot say what does 'S' and 'M' means but it surely does has something to do with the seperate row it is positioned at.

Regards.
