help! getting to goa from kerala and vice versa...

i seem to be having a huge difficulty getting from kerala to goa - i had been told that there was a direct flight ( will be staying near trivandrum) but not found it yet. is it maybe something that you can only book once youre there? or am i dreaming?

need to travel on december 30th.

any help would be hugely appreciated as this is not even for me but a boss that has quite last minute plans!!

thanks,

jo.

There is Indian Air lines flight from Trivandrum to Goa. But it will be touching Kochi enroute. It is Trivandrum -kochi-Goa-Bangalore. I will check and get back on this again.
bye for now

I've heard the trains are HEAVILY booked for the Kerala / Goa route at that time. Flight should be OK. If you're in the UK you can book IA through www.brightsunuk.com ( or UK ? )

how are the mosquitoes in kochi, 2cents? been a long time since i've been there... would love to settle down in kerala one day ( when will be that? )

usha, hope you land a cushy job so that you can amass a lot of wealth and plan a big trip!

jodavies, an option could be to take an overnight train to mangalore and then take the afternoon train (matsyagandha exp ) which reaches madgaon by 8 pm or so. i am not sure if there is a morning train ( there could be some slow trains ).

dont know if buses too are an option..
miles to go....

I visit kerala every year! it is my home state. what i had mentioned is that i havent visited Ernakulam/Kochi for a long time - perhaps 6-7 years or so, though i keep going back and forth in different parts of central and north kerala.

i went to munnar last time, passed thro angamali, perumbavur etc, but still missed ernakulam. shortage of time.

will make it next time. Had stayed in W. Island many times when i was a kid -my uncle used to work there. wonderful place, with all the ships passing right before your door....
