Goa to Trivandrum Train Early December 2007

I promise I have surfed the web and this site at length before asking...

I will be in India early December (before the Xmas crowd I hope) and am looking into taking the scenic train through the Konkan from Goa to Trivandrum first week of December. From my online research (and please correct me if anything is wrong--I did find contradictory information at various online sites

1. I understand this would be train 2432, the Rajdhani Express that leaves Delhi on Mondays and Wed nights and arrives/leaves Madgaon Tues/Thurs afternoons and reaches Trivandrum Wed/Friday mornings?

2. I checked the Konkan Railway site and they have the monsoon schedule up to October. Do we know if it runs same time/days in December. When will the Dec schedule be out?

3. I assume I can book this train online too from Madgaon to Trivandrum? The Konkan Railway website online booking link does not show this train, so I assume I have to do the booking at the Indian Railway site?

4. In some places it says 60 days in advance and I saw somewhere else that it was 90 days in advance. Which is it (it 90 days, I should be able to do it first week of September?).

1. Train No.2432 leaves Nizamuddin (Delhi) on Sun/Tue @11.05 hrs,
reaches Madgaon on Mon/Wed @12.25 hrs and reaches Thiruvananthapuram on Tue/Thu @ 05.25 hrs.

2. For Monsoon schedule, the said train leaves Nizamuddin on the same days and time but reaches at Madgaon @ 14.40 hrs and reaches Thiruvananthpuram @09.30 hrs. After October, the train runs at the same timings as at Sr. No.1 above. The Time Table is valid from July 2007 to June 2008.

3. You can book this train on Indian Railway site.

4. From March 1 - July 15 this year, period of advance reservation of tickets was increased from 60 days to 90 days on an experimental basis. From July 16 thos year, the period of advance reservation has been brought back to 60 days.

Thank You Very Much Sadanand; your response has been most helpful, Now I know that I have to wait till October 5th to do my online booking and also that I have to travel either on Monday or Wednesday from Goa to Trivandrum and Wed Dec 5th fits in well with our plans.

I must tell you all that I am very impressed with this India travel forum. I am of Indian origin (Kerala to Goa via marriage via Malaysia, Kenya, Qatar and now USA) and I participate in several travel forums including Fodors, Frommers, SlowTravel etc. for my European travels. Going to India has always been 'going home' so I have never participated in online forums till now.

##You are right.

##The 2432 would be departing from Nizamuddin on 4.12.2007 (Tuesdays) and passing through Madgaon on 5.12.2007 (Wednesday), the day on which you want to get into this train.

##The bookings for 4th & 5th December,2007, would commence on 5.10.2007 itself.
