Goa to Kerala W/L question

I am travelling with 5 people and we have just made a reservation to travel on the Netravati express to go from Karmali to Varkala / southern Kerala on Jan 2nd....

The status we were given is W/L 1 (for all classes) ... we jumped on the sleeper classs tickets because we were afraid the WL woudl increase...

Should we be concerned that not all 5 of us will make it on the train with WL 1 status?

SHould we make backup plans ? If so , how else coudl we get from Karmali/Thivim to southern Kerala on 1/2 ?

I would say that you will almost certainly be on that train, with only one of you waiting listed and at number 1 to boot!!

Sleeper class sees a lot of cancellations and it's not unusual to see people with number 30 on the waiting list get a confirmed berth.

I would keep checking your status on the India Railways site
chances are you may even get upgraded quite soon!!

well, to be exact we are WL 2-6 .. but from what youve said it seems like it shouldnt be a problem and im very glad we decided for sleeper class since it seems like that we d have the highest chance of getting on.

Are there any prefixes to the words ""WL"" on your ticket - such as RLWL or PQWL or is it simply WL? Have you seen your Journey Ticket OR is it a web-booked ticket?
