goa to chandigarh after new years

What is the best way to reach chandigarh from goa after new years (1st, 2nd or latest by 3rd). All of the fast trains from goa to delhi are booked much beyond capacity(huge waitlists!) .
Im trying to check out the option of going to mumbai first, then to delhi and then to chandigarh.
Can u suggest me a good way and any good trains which still might be available ?

Train 2653 is the only direct train and it is fully booked. Better go via Mumbai, but book your tickets fast: its a very busy section and its the peak holiday season.
Check also for a low-cost Goa-Delhi or Mumbai-Delhi flight.

sir , it would be very inconvenient to travel by sleeper class. i would prefer 3ac or 2ac.
i am almost finalized with goa - mumbai-delhi-chandigarh. a day in mumbai would give me chance to see a place or two in mumbai as well.
mumbai rajdhani is rac 15 on 3rd jan to delhi.. and it takes the minm time..
so i think this plan suits me the best.
