getting to delhi from udaipur
getting to delhi from udaipur
My boyfriend and i woudl liek to get from udaipur to delhi to get our flight home, but have read in the lonely planet book that trains from udaipur are not very good. We had decided to take a 14 hour bus ride from udaipur becasue the train ride woudl be 19 hours. Can someone let me know about the buses in india as well as if there are any better(faster) options for transportation?
Thanks
Sarah

Hi whilst the bus may well be scheduled as a faster option things have a habit of not going to plan on buses.
Also I reckon the train beats the bus hands down for comfort!! you stand a chance of getting some sleep on a train journey buses well that's a different matter.
Here is the info for a handy train leaves at a respectable time of night 4/5 hours later you can bed down for the night and wake up knowing the back of the journey has been broken!!

TRAIN or BUS ?
Hi there !
Greetings from INDIA !!!
Thats true !, Train beats Bus down in comfort... as far booking of tickets goes, you can book your tickets in advance, as for bus you have to by the tickect on the travelling day.
If you think busses are better than train please think again, as they are not VOLVO Coaches or close to it (you might find some of them like that... u gotta be lucky that day !) but genrally they are run and maintained by STATE tourism department. and ther is no limitation of passenger's the one which run by private operators they try to take people in as much they can.
So, would suggest you to take TRAIN, you can select the first class or something of your choice. BUT they are definately the best option available as far COMFORT goes.
Cheers to you all ....

It's a long long long way by train or bus. Fly if you can, especially since you need to get there to catch your flight home. These flights are often heavily waitlisted. But we've never been stuck more than a couple of days as a result of not getting a ticket in advance. Bonus: you can now do it all from an internet cafe.
