Getting to Bhopal from Kota, can it be done?

We are planning to leave Jaisalmer, take the train to Jaipur, then catch a train to Kota/ Bundi for a few days. We are trying to find a way to Bhopal from Kota. Is it possible? Deluxe Bus?... we do not see anything in any guide books.

You can reach Bhopal by direct train from Kota. Journey time is 8 hours by an overnight express.

The train originates from Jaipur and terminates at Chennai/ Bangalore / Bilaspur, depending on the day of the week.

Shimla has suggested the best train; I will give more details below.

The train has different train numbers and classes of accommodation for different days of the week, and it doesn't run on Thursdays.

Train 2968 departs Kota (Tue, Fri & Sun) at 23:05 and gets to Bhopal at 07:10.

Train 9776 departs Kota (Mon & Wed) at 23:05 and gets to Bhopal at 07:10.

There is also an overnight passenger train, this train is slower, only has non-air con Sleeper class and has come all the way from Jodhpur, so is more likely to be delayed.

Train 492 departs Kota (Daily) at 22:50 and gets to Bhopal at 10:45.
