from chennai to hassan
Firt of all, sorry for my poor english!!! I'm a 30 italian girl and this december (30/12/05) I will leave Italy destination Chennai for my first indian trip (time it not longer -20 days). I will stay two days in Chennai and then I want to go in Hassan. I visit the web site "www.irctc.co.in" but I don't find any info about. I suppose there's no train from chennai to hassan. Can you help me? What can I do?

Take a daytime or overnight train to Bangalore then get a bus to Hassan. |

There is a train from Chennai to Mysore. It is a fast train called the Shatabdi Express. It leaves Chennai Central at 6.00 in the morning and drops you off in Mysore at 1.00 in the afternoon. From Mysore you can take a bus to Hassan.

Dear Prof.Aranha,
I presume you are aware of the fact that the distance from Bangalore to Hasan via Mysore is 258 Kms. whereas it is 213 Kms. via Ariskere. ---------- @@@The Two express trains planned from Yeshwantpur to Hasan are yet to become operational. ==================== The 2007 Shatabdi departs from Madras at 6.00 hrs. and arrives in Mysore at 13.00 hrs. The connecting train departs at 18.20 hrs. and arrives in Hasan at 21.13 hrs. ================== Even the 7311 (weekly) and 7313 (weekly) which depart from Chennai Central at 14.00 hrs. and reach Ariskere at 00.35 hrs. may not suit her, since Hasan is still 47 Kms. away from Ariskere. ================== Under these circumstances, it would be fine, if she takes the Bangalore Mail from Chennai (361 Kms.), and from Bangalore, a Bus for Hasan (150 Kms.) ================ V.Srinivasa Prasad 9.12.2005/15.30 hrs. |
