I think I'll visit the doctor in the morning, I keep thinking I've read a thread only to find out it's less than an hour old.
.
SOS: Missing Person...
Please look at this thread, even if you are not in India.: Have you seen Jonathan Spollen?
He could be anywhere now: You might have met him, be able to help, or give information.

Hey, don't worry, I'm not even 100% sure it was asked before, but the question just rings a recent bell.Wait till you've been here a year and find you've answered the same question maybe 50 times in that time, it's kind of funny at first, then it gets a little irritating.
Then after 8 years, you spend a lot of time trying to invent a hand that will jump from a PC and automatically slap a person who asks a repeat question.
But we have to remember that every question is important to different members.

Wow delhiwala, 54.5 posts per day, I've just about managed 3.74 posts per day, I really should learn how to type with 2 fingers.
But you are numero uno in the matter of Indian Trains......
I think even Lalu Yadav or his mandarins at Rail Bhavan also do not know this much about Indian railways....you deserve a Ph.D on Indian Railways...

I done a quick search, S K asked the same question in the 'Goa-Kolkata by train' thread, but nobody replied.
It's difficult to guess the food timings on this train, often a large meal is given at about 14:00 on Rajdhanis (though it may depend on each train's timings), and this train departs at 14:00.
There's also another big meal usually served between 19:30 and 21:30, and at all other times there are little snacks, drinks and tea served, I never went hungry on a Rajdhani.

If the train starts at 1400 Hrs they will not serve lunch,Around 4PM they will serve tea/coffee and some snacks and dinner in the evening. But the time depends whether they have already loaded it or if the train makes a halt at a base kitchen enroute
Morning tea about 6.30
Breakfast about 8.00
Mid morning Maza carton
Lunch about 12.30
Mid afternoon about 4pm, samosa , ras gulla, cake
Dinner about 8pm
Eat it all and you are likely to roll off the train..... stuffed!

Yes, you can ask, and sometimes you will get, but I suppose it depends on what they have ready at the time you ask, and maybe what class you're traveling in.*
There always seems to be extra food, perhaps they have food for every passenger, but there's always some that don't want the train food, so always some left over, and this applies to drinks and snacks as well as meals.
*The staff seem very eager to please, but ths is because they demand tips at the end of your journey, and the higher the class, the higher the expectation.

In Rajdhani the food is cooked on board, so no problem for meals..you may ask fro extra food also, they will be happy to provide (of course, a tip is expected).
I have asked for extra bread pieces on Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi and I always get it.....
In Rajdhani I AC passengers are given limited menu choice also and the crockery used there is Bone China not plastic plates.
