E - ticket and I - ticket

I am using the IRCTC web site to try and book a ticket for a train between Cochin and Margao in Goa. I get the message that Wait listed trains cannot be booked with E ticket, repeat the process using I ticket.
I have tested that train #6346 on a few different dates and get the same message. Not sure what I shoudl be doing to book an e ticket in this situation as I am obviously trying to be able to print out my own tickets.
Advice from anyone on this??

Print and travel is only possible for e-tickets which is issued for conformed or RAC seats only.
If you are getting waiting list then you can take i-ticket which will be delivered to your address. You can get it delivered to any address but keep your identity proof available there to receive it. What I remember they ask for PNR number to verify, give some address where you can make some arrangements to receive it.

Hi,

IRCTC only issue E ticket for either Confirmed or RAC tickets. If you insist on E-ticket then try for a later date when tickets are available or else try in a higher class.

Hi thank you for those suggestions. Given I have tried a number of dates (55-60 days out) could the fact that it is coming up as wait listed be because I am trying to book my family (3 kids, 2 adults) in 2AC? This is a daily train between Ernakulam and Margao.
I will keep trying a few variations and see how I go. I really would prefer to have the tickets on me before I get to India, but I guess the I-ticket option is always a possibility as we have a hotel booked for a couple of nights initially.

Persistence pays off. I tried a few different combos of trains and dates and worked just fine this time.
Thanks again for the advice!
