Yes any and every should do. However some PRS do create a problem saying that it can be done at the originating station of the train or the booking station or within the city limits of the both. You may please carry the two circulars I had provided in earlier thread as a note of official rules.

I can even visit Kashmir and again come down to Kanpur to go back to Delhi and board the train. It depends on how mad you are about traveling in trains or explore the beauty of the nature.
Hi there,
I've been searching all over the place, but I can't figure out how to get from Aurangabad to Udaipur by train. I think I saw in earlier posts that maybe this can't be done directly, but rather must be via some intermediary city.
We're headed into Aurangabad tomorrow (from Mumbai), and would like to leave Aurangabad for Udaipur on Saturday (June 30). Morning departures are better, but it's more important we arrive during the typical hotel open hours, so that we have a better chance of being able to get a hotel when we arrive.
Any thoughts? PS: Preferred mode of travel is 1AC, where available. 2AC would be good enough, though, if 1AC isn't available. I'm also not sure how long this trip will be.
Thanks!

I was looking into this trip and the best option I could work out was taxi from Aurangabad to Jalgaon, train 12656 (dep 09.05) to Ahmedabad then train 19944 overnight to Udaipur arriving 09.20.
The first train has 1AC and 2AC but small quotas as it is a long distance run. You would need to book well in advance. Second train is metre gauge so 2AC is the best you get. Should be OK as there are no side berths,

The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

Thanks a lot, Dave. Three hours is a pretty big cab ride! Any guesses how much that might cost? I have taken plenty local cabs in Mumbai by now, but a big trip like that is beyond anything I've ever attempted. For that matter, I'm not even sure where I would look for somebody who might do it! Any thought there?
Thanks again! Also, if anybody else comes up with alternatives to this, I'd love to hear that too.

From what I can see car+driver hire is pretty easy in Aurangabad as many people use them to go to Ajanta and Ellora. Your Aurangabad hotel probably has contacts or if you have time you could look around for taxi offices. I think I read somewhere that there are buses between Aurangabad and Jalgaon if cost is a concern. We were going to hire a car, vist Ajanta and then travel on to Jalgaon, where we planned to stay the night before getting the train.

one of the options is go via ahmedabad, surat or baroda. ahmedabad gives the option to try out the MG train DaveW mentioned. however, unless you intend to spend time in visiting surat or baroda, it is too long a wait. mainly due to having only a weekly train to reach that route.a better option might be to use BCT as the transfer point. you have daily trains & one of them as 1A for AWB-BCT. but for BCT-UDZ you only have the BG train with 2A.

There are buses Aurangabad-Jalgaon, no problem at all. Should take about as long.If Jalgaon is what Dave found for you, I'd go with that. The problem with Aurangabad is it isn't on a main line, so one will usually want to go over some nearby junctions. There are some others in the area,* but Jalgaon should be as good as any other, and is one of the common junctions to Aurangabad.
* Bhusaval/Bhusawal is another common junction to use for here, so you could see if that throws up more options for you. Another could be Manmad. Could well be pretty much the same trains you're looking at, though.
http://erail.in/ Throws up connecting options where it can, but this isn't a sure-fire method. In this case, they suggest going over indeed Ahmedabad or Mumbai instead (so straight from Aurangabad). Over Ahmedabad might as well make sense, really (and as you can see is in fact where those trains Dave found from Jalgaon would take you over, as well.) Well, obviously much less so if like Paramiyer says this train Aurangabad-Ahmedabad runs just once a week; I currently have trouble getting the schedule to open at Erail.
To figure out these railway junctions, try the railways map at http://www.indianrail.gov.in/images/rail-map.jpg, click on it to enlarge. It is sometimes down. It dates to 2001, but should generally serve these purposes still. (I think the grid hasn't changed all that much since, anyway, though notably many lines shown as minor there will have been upgraded by now. It comes with Trains at a Glance still, the Indian railway timetables, or this version did until a few years ago.) Look there for where lines meet; which may well be places you've never heard of before, but seeing the more trains pass by and connecting, they will of couse throw up the better options.

I am planning to go to Barakar from Howrah. During morning I saw there are 2 trains. Black Diamond Exp and 12385-Howrah Dhanbad A/C Exp. My timing suits the Howrah Dhanbad A/C exp as it departs at 8:30 from howrah. But i want to know how realiable the train is respect to average punctuality & cleanliness. I saw that the halts for this train are very less compare to Black Diamond.

Black Diamond/Coalfield are some trains which are always full of unauthorized commuters causing lot of disturbance for the reserved passengers.
Double Decker is the ideal train with good speed, comfort and punctuality.

is this issue of 'local train' travelers mostly in 2nd class only? or does it happen in ac chair car too? i hope not...in 2nd class with airline type seats (like jan shatabdi), do these commuters just take up empty seats or actually trouble genuine passengers? i can understand that in 2nd class with bench type seats, they would try to get 'adjusted'...
in CC class, we had a terrible experience on a pune-mumbai train in 2005. while getting down at kalyan, a huge number of commuters boarded the CC coach even before the train stopped & we could barely get off just in time. later my friend mentioned that these are passengers with '1st class' pass on suburban & they think that if those with 2nd class pass can board 2S, they should be entitled to board CC!!! checkers usually ignore this, as the numbers are huge and they don't want to risk any trouble...

Hi folks! Im going to India again
Would like to know some info about railway time tables, have Indian railways updated time tables on their website already?
I have booked couple of trains advance something like month ago so in 'scheduled departure' part tickets only show N.A.
Would be great if someone could confirm that I have right departure times atleast.

Udaipur city - Ajmer Jn 19666 could not find this

Amritsar - Pathankot 18101 8:20-11:10
