Do you have a train ticket booked?

I'm trying to do a new thread, but need a current PNR number to play with. (I can't test the PNR info thread without a valid PNR number)

A PNR number is a 10 digit Number, which is printed on the top left corner of the ticket. (should be in a different place on an e-ticket)

If you have one, please send the details to me in a private message (top right).

I won't reveil the PNR number till you have used the ticket.

Thanks in advance.

What do you have in mind? I almost got one of my tickets cancelled when I was playing with URL querystrings.

Steve, I find it intriguing the kind of dedication u've put in researching the indian railways system. And I'm quite sure u're knowledge base outshines that of a whole team of railway engineers and systems managers.
Hats' off, sir !

I agree that we have to be careful when 'messing' around with valid tickets, and I can assure anyone that I know what I'm doing on the Indian Railway website and that their ticket and reservation would be completely safe.

Basically, I am doing a new thread that will take members through every step of finding and booking trains, through to checking (via PNR) and finding their berths.

So I need valid PNR numbers to see what happens when we check our reservations via PNR, and then I can explain to people what the information/details mean, I honestly can't remember.

The thread will take at least another month to complete, so most PNR numbers will be expired by then.

I'm doing this thread because the 'Train Information' thread is looking dated, also there have been so many changes to the timetables this year that updating the thread would be a nightmare.

Also, all the information needed is already on indiamike.com, but a bit here and a bit there, so finding the info can be difficult.

But mainly because, when you understand the process (of IR) it's easy to find and book trains, and I believe we just need one good thread and then most people will be able to book without any problems.

Sanjay, the railways are easy, it's computers that I find impossible.

See the following thread.

Adding a screenshot to a post?

I've started my new thread in a hidden forum, I've done loads of screenshots, and now the bloody things are starting to vanish and getting replaced with little red crosses, I think my thread has got the measles.

I've had so much help of some members that I'm almost ashamed to ask about this new problem.

Thanks Anabel, I have taken the details and removed the info from your post, as I wouldn't want anyone playing with your reservation.

Also, Thanks Jorge

Here you go:

XXXXXXXXXX. Start going 701..702...703 etc. for the last 3. You can look them up at the indianrail.gov.in and all are valid numbers.
