Difference In 1A & 2A?

Hi All,

Am in midst of booking my train tickets online.
Just wondering, is there much of a difference in comfort between these 2 classes? Cause the 1st class seems double in price. So just wanna make sure.

Thanks heaps!

I'd be surprised if anyone thinks 1A is worth twice the cost of 2A, certainly it isn't to me.

1A is colder than 2A, both in terms of temperture and fellow passengers.

But to be fair, I'm no fan of 1A, even though I've done more kms in 1A than any other class except Sleeper Class, and I've also got absolutely nothing in common with other 1A passengers.

Being able to lock your cabin makes 1A feel more secure, but 2A is perfectly safe as well.

1A berths are slightly bigger than the berths in 2A, but 2A berths are big enough, and I've not noticed much difference in comfort levels.

Where 1A wins, is when there are 2 of you travelling together and you're given a coupe, or if there are 4 traveling and you're all put in the same cabin.

We are traveling in 2A and the four of us - two adults and two kids - are in 1 "cabin". So it is possible to be together if you are are foursome.

Since this is my kids first trip to India I wonder what their experience will be. Most of the journey is at night, though

1AC is more secure, i.e you don't run into surprises

I second that with Steven..2A is the BEST class when you take all aspects into consideration.2A also shares the same washroom with that of 1A.1A is dead life.

Only when half the bogie is 1A and the other half 2A-called HA.
Else, they may not even be connected.

Yep, but no doors, only curtains in the compartment. In 1A, you can latch the door from inside.

##Yes. The 2A portion in HA Coach will have 20 Berths as:

*6x3=18
*2x1=2

and the IA portion will have Two Cabins (Four Berths each) and One Coupe (Two Berths)
