Hi All After a long time.

I know its 120 days in advance .

But when is the first day and more importantly the time (in UK) that i can book this train for travel 08 April.

AS it goes to waitlist very quick.

That would be to book with IRCTC not Cleartrip.

Many Thanks
Paul

Many Thanks for the reply.

Been to India a few times now and trains was never my strong subject.

Normally Steven Ber pulls me out the fire.

So how do you find out which berths are allocated to which destination.

I will give the station you mention a go.

Thank you

Click on the following (erail) link

https://erail.in/trains-between-stat...uri-NJP?view=d

Click on your train number (12424)

At the top centre of web page, change date to 23rd March

Go back to your train, follow the info for that train to the other side of the page, look in the first of the 'class' columns (1A) and click on 'Get', in the bottom half of the page you will see the availability numbers for the next 6 dates (from 23rd March).

If you look before bookings open in India, you'll see a hash next to the availability number for 28th March, this is to indicate bookings have yet to open for that date, so this tells you how many berths are used for that station pairing (Delhi to NJP).

Look again at the info for your train (...NDLS 16.10, NJP 13.20....), make sure you're on the correct line, then click on 'NJP', a pop-up box will appear at the right side of the page, you can click on any of the stations in that box to change the destination station (also works if you want to change the boarding station), you will then see the NJP you clicked on has changed to the station code of the new destination station, now click on 'Get' again and you'll see the availability numbers for you new station pairings.

On busy/holiday days, those tickets can sell out quickly.

Be ready to run if anyone says you can't get off at NJP. (joking)

A few years ago I bought a Delhi-Guwahati ticket, halfway through the journey I decided I'd get off at NJP and visit Darjeeling, I was really pleased I had the freedom to change my plans, then I fell asleep and missed NJP station.

I think they do call some random numbers, just to be sure you are real, and not an agent or tout...
