I have to go to jammu, for some work from ghaziabad, i dont want to take bus (volvo or any, they all are uncomfortable).
I have to be in jammu on 13th December 2010 by 3 PM.
I have searched all the erail.in to find a birth (3A,2A)on 12th December from morning today even in tatkal but no success (they all were gone by 8:15 the time a logged on) Then I found this train
0405A ANVT JAT AC SPL it's mostly empty, 364,berths available out of 368 general berths available. is it worth traveling in this train, will i be alone in the compartment ? will it be safe ? and will it reach by 3 PM to jammu ?

It is not a regular train. May be that is the reason, still many people are not aware of it.

BTW: I think using national emblem as your avatar is not correct.
A person is rich when he has money but a person is wealthy when he has time...

but other trains like 0403,0403A are full, anyway my question is will it be safe to travel in such an empty train, in 3A (this train has only this type of composition)

@Dhrubatara i made national emblem as my avatar to show respect to it, for what i am proud of. Have I, in any manner, degraded or disrespected it ?

In 3AC, there will be attendant and A.C. operators. So, I feel you'll not be alone.

I didn't mean you disrespected the emblem. Just mentioned that it is not justified. Using national flag is OK.

Thanks for the reply
now another question
i got the reservation but again i am allotted the SL birth numbered 13 with coach number G12 it's 3A, i am just thinking what kind of composition this coach is having ?

as for the national emblem, if politicians can use it on there letter head why cant i use it on my avatar. for me it is representative of our oldest civilization and the India, today as it is. it is the symbol of grace (bull),marching forward (horse) Power (lion), the wheel for continuity and the spokes for unity is diversity.

I didn't get you exactly what do you mean by composition of the coach. Did you mean whether you are allotted Lower, Upper or Middle berth?

You got a middle berth.

Thanks for providing so much details about the national emblem. Politicians are only allowed to use it on their letterhead when they are Members of the Parliament or Legislative assembly.
Last year the Hon'ble High Court of Calcutta directed the district judges to remove the national emblem from the name plates they used on their cars.

Abhas, this special train only has 3A coaches - so all the coaches will be 3AC with no pantry car - if that's what you meant by composition. The reason for the availability maybe as below:
  1. It runs only on Sundays
  2. It is an AC special which is running only between Nov 7 to Dec 20, 2010 - so regular passengers maynot be aware of it

Also, as per www.indiarailinfo.com the 0405A has the following arrival records at JAT:

At Jammu Tawi
Date / Delay / Arr Time
Mon Nov 29 / 1 hr 35 min late / 11:10
Mon Nov 22 / 1 hr 5 min late / 10:40
Mon Oct 04 / 4 hr late / 13:35

The fog at north India may have to do with it, but I'm not sure. You should be reasonably sure that it would reach by 2 PM. I guess it is good luck that you got this accomodation .

Also note that the present availability is 220. So 364-220 = 144 people have booked after you, so you should be fine on safety. Have a great journey!

I asked because i got SL birth and number is 13 in 3A coach, and that is way i am asking the composition of the coach.
if it is 8 berth bay, 13 should be middle birth and if it is 9 berth bay, 13 should be lower berth, but here 13 is Side lower berth, this is for me very strange !

As far as politicians using ashok lat on there letter head who are not the member of pariliament, here are some .... (guess name yourself)

Head of former national party without any seats in loksabhas/rajashabha
a sweet from bihar
a film star from mum... and so on. (though it is wrong, you have to be representative of the republic of India to use it on letter head.
I know this as a am a part of a national party and national office bearer of it, but that is an another matter
only constitutional authorities can put it on there official car along with the national flag...

but neither constitution nor IT act bar me to use it as my avatar. so i have it

I don't understand what kind of ethics bars you to be proud of your national symbols and be part of it or be part with it..
I represent the republic of India by being its citizen so i can use these symbols.
(there is a case going on in supreme court for this and i hope like national flag hosting this will also be ruled in favor of ordinary peoples of India)

All the rules regarding national symbols including national flag were constituted with heavy influence of British Raj, were there should be way's and devices to show that you are the ruler. So rules regarding them gives you the feel of the ruler.
As now you can host the national flag in your premises, you can put it on your desk any time with due respect, of course. the day will soon come, when national emblem will not be property of parliament and bureaucracy.
I am on that fight and this is a small step...

OK...Hope you'll succeed in your dream.
If you are happy and satisfied using it casually I'm no one to object...

Wish you a happy journey in advance.

Most strange coach i have ever seen this looks like garib rath 3E kind of coach (green yellow livelry), when you enter the coach on left side, there are kind of big oven/food warmer you see in aircrafts, but these were huge.
when you enter ac door they take about 4 feet inside also, so in first bay there 3 births instead of 6, which were facing the backside wall of these food warmers, but on the side there were also 3 births, which were extending to the door ( two RPF constables were sitting on these birth so cant take pictures ) so in all in first bay there were 6 birth (including side births) in second bay there were 9 and so on.. so mine was side lower in second bay, luckily there was nobody in SM or SU.
but i am thinking what they will do with these food warmers ....
there were 7 coach in all of these type in this NR train, made in RCF Kapoorthala in 2009.
