Delhi to Haridwar, take a chance?

Good day

I will be catching an overnight train from Jodhpur to Delhi on the "Rjsthn S Krnti" train(mid December), and arrive in Delhi at 05h30. I want to get from Delhi to Haridwar (and then straight to Rishikesh) as soon as possible. There is a train which leaves at 06h50 from Delhi to Haridwar, which would work out great for me, that is, if my train arrives on time in Delhi. Does anybosy have any experience with this route, if trains are usually delayed? I could book a later train to Haridwar, which leaves at 11h30, but then will have a few hours less to spend in Rishikesh (my stay there is only 2 days and 1 night, so I want to make the most of it). Any comments on this matter will be appreciated.

This train terminates at Delhi Sarai Rohila (DEE), while the Delhi-Haridwar train ( i assume it is Dehradun Shatabdi) leaves from New Delhi (NDLS). Factor in the time required to move from DEE to NDLS.
