Which is the most convenient Metro station for DEE Sarai Rohilla?
From where autorickshaws can be easily found? What will they charge?

From the map it seems Jhandewalan Metro station is close enough from the south side.

Whereas from the other side of the train tracks, Shastri Nagar Metro station is the nearest. Is it walkable to the platform from there?

We don't want to be stuck awkwardly in the last mile!
We have never been to DEE before.

The nearest metro is Shastri Nagar and from there it's around 10 minutes by auto-rickshaw (plenty would be cycles which could take you around 15 minutes). Maximum charge would be Rs. 40 although sometimes they charge you more than that if it's very late!

Delhi Sarai Rohilla... Which Metro Station?

A related question:

If we arrive at Delhi Sarai Rohilla 04:30 AM in early morning before sunrise, what mode of transport will be available to go to Nizamuddin (NZM) stn either directly, via Metro or via New Delhi Station so as to reach there by 05:40 AM to catch a 5:55 AM train for further from there ?

Thanks for any replies to this reply !

A taxi. I doubt if the Metro will be in operation that early in the morning.

When would be that? Also does the train start from there?

Thank foe quick reply!! That is awesome fast !.
Is taxi the only option? Coz they may charge exorbitant amount. What about Auto or local circular train? or DTC bus service starting at 5AM or soon after?
Can I take auto to near by DTC bus stop, and which BUS#, how much time will DTC bus ride take from there to NDLS or NZM, or allow me to take a local train from NDLS to NZM ?

Arriving on Jammu Doronto, and have 100 minutes to catch the 05:55 train from NZM for Dehradun (forgot exact name of train).

Looking for simple information: What time DTC buses will start working around these Railway Stations. If not running, I can take Auto to next point from where I can get DTC bus.
Say if I reach NDLS by Auto in about 20 or 25 minutes, it would be 04:45. Then at that time can I get a local train or DTC bus from NDLS to NZM. Because road traffic will be light so buses will go fast while timing of local train may not match my time needs.

Firstly, at that hour and with that little connecting time the only safe option you have is to book a radio taxi. You will not be overcharged as you pay strictly by the meter, on the other hand that early the auto drivers will want extra money. Forget about the metro, it doesn't start running till 5.30 or 6 am, and even if it were there is no convenient way to get to NZM. Nearest stations are Shastri Nagar or Jhandewalan at one end to which you need other transport, and JLN Stadium at the other end from where you'd again need other transport. Not forgetting having to change trains twice in between. Also forget DTC, I don't think there is a direct bus, and even if there is, what if you have to wait 10-15 mins or longer? I realise you have 90 mins (not 100) presuming the first train is on time, but I myself wouldn't take the chance. If you don't want to take a taxi, take an auto all the way.

Secondly, of all the trains to Dehradun, you picked the 19019 Bandra-Dehradun Express, the slowest of all the available trains??!! Check what time this train gets to Dehradun, then check what time the next available train (12017 Shatabdi, dep 6.45 am) gets to Dehradun. Btw, the 19019 with its long route is often delayed, the 12017 as an originating train hardly ever.
I realise of course that you may have tried and not got a booking for the Shatabdi. In that case, you'd still be much better off making your way comfortably to ISBT Kashmere Gate and taking one of the many deluxe buses available for Dehradun. Even the Volvo bus will cost around the same as 2A on the 19019. The A/c Deluxe and the Hi-tech (non-a/c deluxe) are even cheaper.
FYI, trains from Delhi to Dehradun have a 70 km longer route than road transport because of having to circumvent Rajaji NP.

Btw, do you specifically want to travel by this Duronto? Because there is a jolly good daily train from Jammu to Saharanpur (only 70 km from Dehradun) and Haridwar (only 60 km from Dehradun), the 14610 Hemkunt Express. It arrives very early at SRE, you could be in Dehradun by 6.30 am; getting off at HW later means you could still be in Dehradun at 8 am. You can easily get buses and taxis from either place to Dehradun.

There are also any number of trains from Jammu to Saharanpur that'll get you there in 8 to 11 hours. Beats coming to Delhi, which you're only using as a transfer point.
