delhi rail stations

Hi! Can someone clarify for me where the major train stations are in delhi- I just can't seem to find Delhi Cantt on my map. Am I being stupid and its outside of delhi? Please help, I want to book some tickets to ajmer and will be staying near Lodi Gardens. Which station is best??

Click onto this site -- http://www.mapmyindia.com/ -- and type in "Delhi Cantt" "Delhi" "Delhi" in the relevant spaces. The map will find about five different places, but it doesn't matter which one you choose, the map that will be presented to you is the same in each case, and it shows you the exact position of Delhi Cantt Railway Station (marked as "RS"). My memory is that there are several "main" Delhi Stations -- New Delhi, Old Delhi, Rohilla (?)and Nizamuddin -- but that Delhi Cantt is actually a very minor player in this company and not much happens there. Still, this may not be correct... I will be happily corrected by experts.

As for which station is best for Ajmer, you should be looking at "Trains between Important Stations" on http://www.indianrail.gov.in/. It takes a few minutes to learn to use this site, but, when you've got the hang of it, it will tell you everything you wish to know about train travel.

Dear nikino,
Due to closure of Delhi Cantt. - Rewari MG Section for Conversion, now you cannot travel in MG Train ""directly"" from Delhi Cantt. to Ajmer.

However, BG Train Services are available from Delhi Cantt. to Ajmer, for example, 2015 Shatabdi Express:-
